Wow what an interesting day on the streets of Momelodi.  I went out in a group of 4 people around 1:30pm today.  We began our walk at the Cresh (the place that we spend time with the kids).  After about 100 yards of walking, we stopped to talk to some street vendors and saw three younger guys walk by.  After a short visit with the vendors, we walked over to the guys that had found themselves a seat on some roadside bricks.  Conversation began with just some background questions about the guys.  Their names are Jani, Tyson, and Simon.  When I asked Jani his name I thought he said "Unjani."  This means how are you in Zulu.  So I told him in Zulu that I was fine and I asked him how he was doing.  So that started us off with a good laugh.  We then found out that these guys were 20, 20, and 19 and were all pursuing a career in the rapping and R&B profession.  They did a couple raps in Africaans and Zulu for us and they were actually quite enjoyable.  Then we talked about their families, how their music career was going, and then we began talking some about church.  Tyson at one point asked me to see my bible and informed us that his favorite chapter is Psalms 23.

We started sharing scripture with these guys and found out some interesting news.  They believed in Jesus, BUT they also believed in their ancestors.  This means that they mix witchcraft and Jesus in the same bowl.  They believe that they should go to witch doctors and traditional healers and worship them as well as Jesus.  We shared the Truth with them to show them that our God is a Jealous God and that he demands only praises to him.  Worshipping Him alone means no worshipping of false idols.  As we began talking to them, they wanted to know more about Jesus, eternal life, and what a life in Christ would look like on paper.  God spoke a lot of truth to them through our mouths and all the glory go to the changes that will come of today's conversation.  The incredible thing is that the three guys want to meet us tomorrow.  We are going to share music with them and they are going to let us listen to some of their tracks.  We are all so excited to get the chance to spend some of the day with them.  We prayed for the three of them and they showed us a new handshake.  We are always delighted when the locals teach us new things.  Who knows maybe I'll learn how to rap.  Doubtful though!  So yea we prayed for them and went to see Sam again.  We ended the day by praying for Sam and his Family.  Did I mention how much I love the ministry team here in Momelodi?  Our group has so much passion for the Lord.  Please remember to pray for our new friends, Jani, Tyson, and Simon.  I will be praying that God is growing you more each day, and teaching you to love him more through His Word.
