Our new friends showed up today at the Cresh like they promised yesterday. As we waited for them I picked up a young boy and played with him at the playground for about an hour. He was so excited to spend part of his day with me. His face was glowing with happiness and we had a lot of fun hanging out. Before I knew it Jani, Tyson, and Simon had walked up to where I was hanging out and they brought some company with them. They brought the two other guys in their rap group with them. The first was Simon's brother, Philemon, and the second was Steve (who happens to be their chorus guy). As they promised, they brought their CD with them. It had nine tracks that weren't completely finished, but they did have an interesting beat to them. After they shared all their music with a couple of us, we asked them if they wanted to hear some of the music I had with me. Though y'all know I pretty much don't follow rap, I do have some Christian rap. LeCrae is my favorite Christian rap artist. I shared this music with them. They loved it, and I explained a few of my favorite songs to them. I think they really enjoyed the songs and we had a great time just hanging out. They showed me a couple dances to their songs and I picked up on them pretty well. Then, several of the guys started break dancing and doing all kinds of sweet dance moves to the songs we were listening to. I was quite impressed by their moves, and I would love to learn more soon.
We have one more week in our ministries here in Momelodi. The guys had to work this weekend, but they invited us to their studio and their homes on Monday. Vanessa, Luke, and I
are meeting the guys again at the Cresh on 1pm. They were really excited to here that we are going to visit their studio. I am going to burn a few CD's for them this weekend. I truly believe that if the Lord can give them this much passion for music then he can definitely use them to bring more glory to his kingdom. I told the guyz that I am bringing my bible with me on Monday. This weekend we will be putting together many different teachings to share with the five of them. It will be a weekend of much prayer and time with the Lord. Just to seek him for direction on where and how to lead these boys to Him. I'm not sure what direction we are headed with it, but I ask that you will continue to pray for these boys. I just can't help but have faith that our king Jesus will be bringing them to Him soon. We will have four days to continue our ministry with them, and it will be amazing to pour the love of Jesus Christ into them. Ultimately though, all the glory to his holy name. We have had amazing times with these boys and hope to continue to next week.
We found out today that there will not be three teams anymore, but only two teams. The team God has called me to is the Swaziland team, and we learned a lot about the many different internships that we will have the opportunity to serve at. I'm especially looking forward to being able to do agriculture work with a guy called pasture Walter. There are a bunch of different tasks that he is going to begin working on next semester. I have heard that he will be building a hog farm, an irrigation tool, and hopefully some other cool projects. I am also really excited to get the chance to preach in churches there. So, there will be two teams. One team in Swaziland, and the other in Kenya. The Swaziland team will be about two times the size of the Kenya team. I am very excited for the brothers and sisters that will be experiencing the ministry there. I will definitely miss them though. This time here at Alabanza has been a great time of fellowship with these men and women of God. Continue to pray for God's leading on what team I should be on, and what team the rest of my teammates should be on.
