Howdy from Swaziland! This week was quite busy and eventful. As you found out last week I have found my full time internship. I am working at a farm named McCorkindales. This was my second week of work there. This week we were really busy. I worked 3 days there this week. Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday. I always have a day in between those, where I choose a different ministry that I want to try out or get more involved with. On Tuesday we were out in the fields hoeing the Maize. My boss's English name is Robert, and we've been spending a lot of time talking about different things going on in both our lives. Robert is the only Christian I work with so you can imagine we have some very good conversations. He is 47 years old and has 15 kids. He started his walk with Jesus 5 years ago after some major turbulence that God delivered him out of. Anyway, Robert's youngest daughter, Lindo, wasn't going to be able to go to school this year because he couldn't afford to send her. I prayed about whether or not I should support her. The Lord affirmed to me that I should use His money to support her. So on Tuesday I met Robert and Lindo at St. Joseph's primary school at 7:30 in the morning. Robert bought her a school uniform the previous day so she was all ready for school. She was so excited to go to class that early Tuesday morning. We paid her school fees, and she went on her way to class. The first week I spent out at the farm I spent some time with her, and I love her. I absolutely wish she was my daughter, but Robert thinks otherwise….. So, I was able to see how bright of a girl she was, and her potential in life. Robert and I both believe too that she will grow up to be an amazing woman of God. Thursday was a very interesting day. We got the tractor out! Four of road the tractor out to a small river where we pump water from. The farm manager before Robert was an engineer from Australia and he built an irrigation pump system. So the day before we got some diesel fuel to prepare for the job. We pumped got the pump running and also had to fix one of the hoses. All and all I think we pumped around 15,000 liters in about 4 hours. They have 3, 5,000 liter tanks at McCorkindales. The rest of the day we were moving around irrigation hoses to began watering some of the young Maize.
